Operations Engineering supports all the firms products and markets, including its banking, sales, trading and asset management capabilities, as well as its risk management and control functions. We are looking for a driven individual to join our Loans Trade Processing and Structured Products team. We are building on a rich and varied technology stack, owning everything from the business focused user interfaces to the high availability servers that orchestrate complex interactions. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are currently building the next generation Loans Servicing System, moving to a highly automated low touch user experience; while targeting the scalability of the platform to support business growth into retail and corporate loans. This is an exciting challenge because loans vary from simple bilateral to complex bespoke syndicated loans with potentially thousands of lenders, and present many complex software challenges. Our designs need to preserve flexibility while providing a rich yet simple and intuitive user experience. Our team is also a front runner in the firm's big data strategy as we evolve loan reporting and analytics to the firm's Data Lake platform. You will be interacting with our users globally; they have presence in New York, Dallas (USA), London, Bengaluru and Tokyo. Our team is currently 13 people strong based across New York, Bengaluru and London.





  • Are enthusiastic and willing to learn. This is one of the more complex business areas within Goldman Sachs, a detailed understanding will be required to help us drive the design and build of our architecture in a nimble, agile way.
  • Bring proven technical expertise ready to take advantage of in house and open source technologies to facilitate rapid application development.
  • Enjoy or want to learn full stack development working across a breadth of technologies: Java 8, Angular, Javascript, Elastic Search, Spring, Dropwizard, Hibernate, Vertx, Maven, Hadoop, JSON, Sybase, DB2, Kafka, .Net, Linux, and other no-SQL DB's.
  • Are interested in a deep understanding of scalable enterprise system design, service orientated and microservice architecture.
  • Are up for stretching challenges. Your technical expertise will be coupled with superior soft skills enabling you to partner with our business users directly, translating their needs into innovative technical solutions.

  • Experience in Java, C# or similar language
  • Exposure to DB2 or other relational database, alongside SQL
  • Willingness to explore new technologies
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a disciplined approach to software development Preferred
  • Strong core Java skills, Maven, Spring, with .NET UI experience a plus
  • Experience working in Financial Technology
  • Experience with high volume applications
  • Experience with HTML5, Angular, JavaScript
  • Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar Systems Engineering degree Please note that the build out of a strategic platform (24x6) involves performing support, therefore, the candidate should be willing to be part of second line of support rota, and provide assistance in case in the event of production issues.
