RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Roles within Securities Strats

 

Goldman Sachs’ Strat Engineers are world leaders in developing technological techniques to solve complex business problems. Specifically PIPG Strat Engineers are responsible for the automation of the Private Investor Products Group (PIPG) business, developing large-scale algorithmic pricing, external distribution and trading platforms for securitized derivative products across major asset classes. The PIPG client base is made up of private banks, retail banks, online brokers and other distributors that provide structured solutions to high net worth or retail investors.

 

How you will fullfil your potential 

  • Automate the pricing, distribution and execution of structured products with particular focus on web distribution, API services and business workflows.
  • Design, develop and support highly reliable components across a range of technologies in a structured, disciplined and fast-moving environment.
  • Pro-actively automate workflows and improve existing processes in real-time distributed systems used for low latency and high volume processing.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of structured products and payoff terms
  • Interact with the trading, sales, structuring, technology and operations teams as part of project and support responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Quantitative, computer science or engineering academic background.
  • At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong programming skills in an OO or functional language (Java/C++/Python/Scala/Haskell).
  • Ability to solve complex problems and to explain the ideas that underlie the solution to non-technical clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with web development frameworks and RESTful services
  • Familiarity with financial systems and products
  • Distributed systems architecture.
  • Low latency or real-time software development.
