Tasks include budgeting, reporting, Balance Sheet reconciliation and management, project management, managing accruals and managing client interactions.

ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE

  • Review monthly allocations to assess impact on business and advise stakeholders accordingly
  • Provide support for clients on any Technology finance related queries, including expenses, allocations and other ad-hoc finance questions
  • Partnering with the global Managing Partners of stakeholder divisions and their direct reports and Chief of Staff to effectively communicate financial Technology story to the division
  • Businesses partnering with stakeholder divisions to provide a cohesive story and financial strategy to front office and ensure relationships are maintained.

REPORTING

  • Provide management reporting to Tech Division BU Managers and internal business clients
  • Manage and drive all aspects of the fiscal planning cycle
  • Create financial models to be used in reporting technology costs to end-users
  • Understand and prepare allocation reports of other support departments (e.g. Operations, Services) to both Technology and other internal business clients
  • Help prepare for and participate in monthly meetings with Tech BU Managers to review their financial packs
  • Perform Ad-hoc expense analysis and management reporting

BUDGETING AND FORECASTING

  • Support the Tech Managers during the forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Coordinate aspects of the Technology Division annual budget process, including working with TFS in New York, London  and Bengaluru; Provide  local support to managers by analysing and reporting results

FINANCIAL CONTROL RELATED DELIVERABLES

  • Perform regular reviews of allocations and headcount reporting
  • Maintain reference data; Coordinate data uploads
  • Provide support to other team members when required

AUDIT AND OTHER STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Work with the Controllers in providing guidance and documentation to the Statutory auditors as part of the annual audit of Bangalore entities
  • Work with the Tax team locally in providing allocation details from global entities for transfer pricing and tax assessments

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Candidates should be a finalist or recently qualified Chartered Accountant or a MBA from a reputed institution
  • Ideally understanding of how investment banking technology costing processes work (allocations, inter-region charging, budgets.)
  • Good industry knowledge and strong accounting knowledge. Product knowledge a definite plus
  • Sound management judgement and potential to lead team in future
  • Motivated self-starter, inquisitive, enthusiastic with impeccable attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortable handling large volumes of data and present information to senior management
  • Excellent interpersonal, client relationship and communication (written and verbal) skills, including being comfortable dealing with people at a senior level
  • Courage to challenge current practice and initiative to suggest new ways of working
  • Ability to cope with multiple demands on time and prioritize accordingly
  • MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint ) required
  • Proficient in the use of Hyperion/Essbase
