    Are you passionate about customer services, operations, leadership, and using digital tools to provide solutions to retails?  Do you have a background in risk management and controls? We’re looking for a professional to support our customer support team who wants to use their skills and ideas to create and then lead new processes and teams.

Our division also provides critical operations and user experience design to ensure business flows smoothly when customers come to us. From day one, team members play a vital role in upholding the three customer support principles of customer focus, process innovation and risk management.

     

    Job Summary & Responsibilities

    • Works with Head of Delivery and Risk to plan, design and implement an overall risk management process for the Customer Support teams
    • Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures and authority levels across multiple cross-functional teams and processes
    • Develops strategies to manage Operational Risk, working in collaboration with Risk teams to identify any risks and managing issues in line with agreed business policies
    • Provides direction and support to management team to ensure key controls are in place to manage Operational Risk
    • Carries out monthly control testing on all procedures, as directed by the management team, to identify any gaps in controls of new / emerging risks
    • Completes ongoing risk assessments; analysing existing risks along with new and emerging risks and identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the team
    • Works closely with Digital Finance Risk team to establish and quantify the risk appetite and ensure this is embedded into policies, procedures and controls
    • Conducts regular audits of policy and compliance to standards
    • Partners with Training and Development to collect and analyze data from each audit/monitor activity and assist customer support teams with the development and implementation of appropriate corrective action plans, training tips, and team communication to improve overall quality results
    • Designs appropriate and ongoing risk training materials and facilitates training across the customer support teams
    • Completes regular Risk Control Self Assessments for the Customer Support teams
    • Provides monthly Risk and Compliance dashboard.
    • Provides monthly report on control testing

    Skills

    • In depth product knowledge across Banking and Savings within retail banking
    • Excellent business analytical, good eye for detail
    • Good planning or organizational skills
    • Good negotiation skills and ability to influence people
    • Experience in risk management and control testing
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
    • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, changing, start-up environment
    • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
    • Good technical acumen; ability to understand the wider business architecture

    Basic Qualifications

    • 5+ years professional experience 

     

    • In depth understanding of Operational Risk, preferably within Retail Banking environment
    • Understanding of the UK regulatory environment
    • In-depth knowledge of management, regulatory policies and legal requirements
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field preferred

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in a regulated and audited service environment
