Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Function on a team that is responsible for the operational elements of daily funding, liquidity and cash settlements for the Firm.  Responsibilities include: perform key functions related to counterparty risk management and client transparency by managing cash exposure across agent banks, and facilitating payment activities in line with established Services Level Agreement (SLA) with clients; drive the department’s unit costing strategy by conducting settlement volume data analysis and allocating cost appropriately to supported businesses; perform funding projection by investigating and evaluating large value, high risk payments/receipts to determine and take appropriate funding actions (such as FX, loan); monitor the Firm’s intraday cash positions at agent banks to determine appropriate funding decisions, which comply with both internal and external loan and credit regulations/restrictions; investigate cash flows and exceptions by performing sanction screening on the Firm’s strategic platform to ensure compliance with international regulatory bodies such as the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), Bank of Japan (BOJ), etc.; increase process efficiency, system automation, and liquidity optimization by conducting in-depth analysis of current processes, and design and propose enhancements.

 

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in an analytical field such as Finance, Management, Business, Economics or a related field.  Two and a half (2.5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related finance position. Prior experience must include two and a half (2.5) years: cash management experience and product knowledge in different flows such as foreign exchange, OTC derivative products, equities, and syndicates to evaluate funding need, facilitate settlement and perform reconciliation; utilizing accounting skills to perform reconciliation processes to balance books and records to mitigate exposure risks; utilizing problem solving and analytical skills pertaining to identification and resolution of entry error and/or system generated issues; utilizing application/software enhancement processes, including producing test scripts, coordinating testing activities, and analyzing post production implementation; experience with different funding techniques such as Tom-next, repurchase agreement, and foreign exchange; experience with diagnosing and resolving payment exceptions due to SWIFT formatting or issues with payment infrastructure; experience with financial industry payment networks such as SWIFT, NACHA, and CHAP; experience with process improvement including identifying opportunities for efficiency, proposing enhancement plans, and leading and implementing upgrades to achieve desired outcome; using standard Microsoft tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint to track volumes, workflow, and projects including utilizing Pivot tables to manage large datasets, and other Excel formula-based functionality to minimize manual processes and efficiently manage risk; identifying risks inherent in daily business process and driving initiatives to design controls to mitigate risk while seeking efficient Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows; working with financial regulations and their impact on financial reference data; experience with data mining/blending to conduct trend analysis; working with financial sanction programs from regulatory bodies such as OFAC, BOJ, and the British Treasury; experience with client money regulations such as Futures Customer Funds (CFTC 1.20), Swap Execution Facilities (CFTC 22), and United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority’s (UKFCA) Client Money Normal Approach and Client Money Alternative Approach; utilizing data analytics tools such as Alteryx and Tableau; creating and manipulating VBA and sophisticated formulas in Excel to perform funding calculations as well as facilitate break resolution.
