    RISK

    The Risk division is responsible for credit, market and operational risk, model risk, independent liquidity risk, and insurance throughout the firm.

     

    The Credit Risk Management Department (“CRM”) is a central part of the Goldman Sachs risk management framework, with primary responsibility for approving, monitoring, and managing credit risk generated by the Firm’s underwriting, lending, and derivative activities. Credit professionals with expertise in financial, credit and risk analysis work closely with many areas of the firm, as well as clients, in a transactional capacity, offering a unique opportunity to gain a broad perspective on the activities of the Firm.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    PM/PR responsibilities:

    • Credit risk management oversight for a portfolio of clients in the Municipal Sector which includes States, local governments, not for profit healthcare, higher education, infrastructure, among others 
    • Coordinate with Investment Banking/Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, Legal, Operations and Compliance departments to approve business and ensure appropriate documentation, limits and risk mitigants to protect against a counterpart default and minimize potential losses
    • Represent credit views at senior risk and capital committee meetings
    • Assess the business and financial strength of the firm’s Municipal counterparts to determine acceptable levels of credit exposure, monitor internal credit ratings, and ongoing exposure
    • Evaluate any limit breaches and determine the appropriate path to resolution
    • Develop and manage relationships with colleagues from the broader risk division as well as with other areas of the firm
