    Goldman Sachs’ Investment Management Division (IMD), comprised of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) and Private Wealth Management (PWM), provides asset management and wealth management solutions to world-class institutions and individual investors globally. We are seeking an Analyst / Associate to join the Expense Analysis Group (EAG) of IMD Corporate Controllers.

     

    The EAG team supports IMD’s three major distribution channels and implements controls to safeguard over $1B of distribution related incentive programs affecting over 1,000 invested stakeholders.   

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

                           

    • Develop a broad understanding of IMD businesses and the daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements of this growing business.
    • Work closely with Management, Operations, Shareholder Services and Technology teams to provide tactical and strategic business solutions.
    • Develop and maintain a strong teamwork approach while providing business solutions in a deadline oriented environment.
    • Calculate variable expenses and book to the firm’s G/L including commissions, equity amortizations and bonus accruals.
    • Analyze and provide weekly, monthly and annual variable expense projections.
    • Perform monthly balance sheet substantiation and quarterly Sox assessments.
    • Produce business analysis for compliance, legal and management teams.

    NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • 2 to 4 years work experience.
    • Strong accounting and/or finance background.
    • Strong analytical skills and detailed/deadline oriented.
    • Excellent organizational and multi task skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
    • Researcher / problem solver / critical thinker / able to grasp new concepts.
    • Advance PC skills, specifically MS Office skills (Excel: VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIF etc.)
    • Must be flexible and adopt to change.
