We look for creative collaborators who evolve, adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced global environment. Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Technology plays a key role in the firm’s ability to help institutional clients buy and sell financial instruments on liquidity venues around the world, an important revenue driver for the firm. In FICC Technology we use both open source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build cutting edge platforms for pricing, execution, and control over each of these millions of transactions.

We’re looking for a technology professional to join our Mission Control team to use their problem solving and communication skills to support Futures electronic trading at Goldman Sachs.

We develop and support trading systems for global equity and derivatives (futures and options) markets, as well as foreign exchange, commodities, rates and credit across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

     

    YOUR IMPACT

     

    This role places you at the heart of our electronic business, in Mission Control. You will provide operational and technical assistance for Futures infrastructure, as part of a global support team, to both our internal traders, and crucially our external clients. In addition, you will be expected to work with every component in the order flow, in order to assess risk during systems changes, provide input to system design and supportability, swiftly resolve production issues and add enhancements to our systems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

    • This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in a global project and would give the successful candidate excellent exposure to the financial marketplace for Futures.
    • The role would provide you an opportunity to gain an in depth understanding in the management and running of an electronic trading business and very much requires ‘hands on’ people.
    • Full training will be provided for the bespoke applications in addition to having access to Goldman Sachs University
    • Opportunity to develop tooling and processes to improve operational support

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

     

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Excellent troubleshooting and communications skills
    • Will take the initiative to improve their situation, motivated teamplayer
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks effectively – the client comes first
    • Ability to react calmly but quickly in emergency situations
    • Ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies
    • Comfortable operating in a dynamic and exciting trading environment

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous experience of supporting electronic trading environments
    • FIX Protocol knowledge
    • Detailed knowledge of Unix
    • Scripting or coding experience
