    Goldman Sachs MBD Real Estate team is seeking to add an Analyst/Associate to its portfolio management team in London. The portfolio management team is responsible for developing critical portfolio analytics that help guide strategic decision making and investor interactions. The Analyst/Associate would be responsible for the portfolio management of a pan-European granular loan portfolio.

    Merchant Banking Division (MBD)

    Merchant Banking invests both the firm's own capital and capital raised from outside investors in corporate equity, corporate debt, real estate and infrastructure assets world-wide. The work is deal-focused and exciting, and will bring you in contact with a wide range of businesses, industries, investment structures and products.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

     

    • Working closely with deal team leaders across the Real Estate platform, the successful candidate will be expected to help drive execution and portfolio management across the European Loan space on a day-to-day basis.
    • Calculate and analyse performance and risk metrics on a quarterly basis and develop reporting for internal and external stakeholders
    • Provide thoughtful analysis and communicate with senior leaders in the firm on the performance of loan investments and key profit/loss drivers that influence macro strategic and risk decisions.
    • Interact and collaborate with internal teams across the firm as well as external vendors to ensure quality of data and strength of processes and controls

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

     

    • 1-4 years of experience in financial services with a preference for real estate, portfolio and/or asset management, and non-performing loan experience
    • Experience working with large sets of data and developing institutional-level reporting
    • Strong project planning, organization, and time management skills
    • Solid analytical / critical thinking mind-set and attention to details
    • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and all Word products
    • Technical Skills including SQL, VBA, Tableau a plus
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
    • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
    • Fluency in English is required; other European Languages are a plus.
