    The Data Stewardship Engineering team focuses on analysis, development, and implementation of comprehensive solutions which enable Data Stewardship functions throughout the firm. Data stewards play a critical role in ensuring data quality across multiple areas of the firm's business. Our team looks to enable these resources by promoting data quality and accessibility with reduced risk to these data domains through a variety of custom and commercial solutions. Data Stewardship Engineering is part of the Data Intelligence business unit whose purpose is to extract the maximum business value from the firm’s datasets at all stages of its life-cycle.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

    • Leverage technologies and standards to automate and improve existing processes
    • Implementation of new features and evolution of existing solutions to high-quality standards
    • Engage in design discussions to shape the evolution of the Data Stewardship platform
    • Support and educate clients in their use of the platform


    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    • A Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in a computational field (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or in a related quantitative discipline)
    • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a team-focused environment
    • Hands-on experience in one of the mainstream programming language (Java, C++, etc.) using object-oriented design techniques and best practices
    • Experience of test-driven development, hands on experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit
    • Web services development: RESTful APIs; Swagger; Jersey
    • Thorough knowledge and experience in all phases of SDLC
    • Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, code optimization and issue resolution
    • Extensive knowledge and proven experience applying domain driven design to build complex business applications
    • In-depth knowledge of relational and columnar SQL databases, including database design
    • General knowledge of business processes, data flows and the quantitative models that generate or consume data
    • Excellent communications skills and the ability to work with subject matter expert to extract critical business concepts
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and communicate complex ideas in a simple manner
    • Independent thinker, willing to engage, challenge or learn
    • Ability to stay commercially focused and to always push for quantifiable commercial impact
    • Strong work ethic, a sense of ownership and urgency
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in data management processes, including; data curation, data quality, traceability, validation, reconciliation, security, and correctness across supply and demand processes
    • Experience working on full stack software development
    • Front-end web development using HTML5/JavaScript/React
    • Knowledge of workflow solutions using BPMN
    • Financial Services industry experience
    • Experience with object/non-relational databases (MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Elastic)
    • Experience with the Big Data ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Flink)
    •  Proficient in a Unix/Linux environment.
