    MERCHANT BANKING

    The Merchant Banking Division (MBD) is a lending and investing business focused on providing capital to companies in both private and public markets.  MBD Credit specializes in lending across a number of investment strategies that include defensive yield, mezzanine financing, middle market direct lending, opportunistic and distressed credit. Across these verticals, the business leverages its deep industry knowledge and fundamental credit, distressed, corporate, and asset valuation techniques to source and underwrite investments with attractive risk-adjusted returns. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Job Summary & Responsibilities

     

    The Multi-Strategy Investing Group (MSI) invests globally across the capital structure (e.g. bank debt, bonds, liquidations or equity) in companies with tradeable products (often stressed / distressed) and will also explore opportunistic private transactions to support these businesses. MSI covers a wide variety of industries and operates with a value-oriented investing mindset. 

     

    MSI is currently looking for an associate/vice president to join the business as a Research Analyst.  The role requires the sourcing, underwriting and asset management of investments within a targeted range of sectors.  Teammates can expect to develop deep sector and industry knowledge, hone valuation techniques and build expertise across various investment strategies, countries and products.

     

    Basic Qualifications

    • Investing, Investment Banking, Research, Finance background (3-9 years of experience) 
    • Superior corporate valuation, modeling, and Excel proficiency

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented candidates with strong accounting, finance, modeling and problem solving skills 
    • Strong combination of organizational and interpersonal/communication skills 
    • Keen interest in the financial markets and good commercial instincts
