  • MORE ABOUT THIS JOB

Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Technology plays a key role in the firm’s
ability to help institutional clients buy and sell financial instruments on liquidity venues
around the world, an important revenue driver for the firm. In FICC Technology we use both open source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build cutting edge platforms for pricing, execution, and control over each of these millions of transactions.
The Bolt-Web Engineering team in the FICC Division is seeking an Associate to join the team as a DevOps Engineer. The BoltWeb team owns a strategic platform for pricing and trading derivative products. This global platform is used by many business units in FICC (FX, Commodities, Interest Rates) to make markets for our clients on a daily basis.

As a DevOps Engineer you will be working closely with service development teams to help them as they migrate their Java and JavaScript services to be cloud native, reducing coupling and increasing release cadence - safely. You will be integrating and customising open-source tools into our Kubernetes runtime and our Gitlab, git and Docker based SDLC. You will be writing custom tools where absolutely necessary in Java, JavaScript, Bash and Golang. You will become an advocate for SRE practises in our team, and we will help you develop in this area. As you gain experience and exposure to the specific needs of the Bolt Web services teams, you will help to curate and disseminate best practises in terms of patterns of service networking, state-management, configuration-management, health, monitoring and alerting. You will play a role in runtime support, helping to diagnose issues in the runtime environment, and then via post-mortems help to introduce long term fixes in process, practises and tools. As part of a new function working in a product area with wide usage, and continued rapid adoption, there is plenty of opportunity to deliver value and gain exposure across the FICC Division.
