    Job Summary & Responsibilities

     

    The successful candidate will become a member of the Synthetic Products Group (SPG) distribution team based in Hong Kong. The SPG distribution team is responsible to designing and implementing synthetic equity exposures for hedge funds and institutional clients. The core responsibility of the candidate will be the marketing and development of content to support the distribution of the equity basket swaps to GS’ hedge funds and institutional clients. The role involves:

     

    • Content creation around themes and hedging solutions to support the distribution of custom baskets (macro and single stock hedging)
    • Engagement with the global sales force and institutional clients around custom baskets, hedging solutions and factor analytics
    • Both independent and collaborative work, involving several sales/strat/trading teams globally to grow the basket business and to develop the APAC custom basket product and analytics
    • Providing metrics for basket trades, to drive sales and trading decisions and to grow the business

    Basic Qualifications

     

    Successful members of our team hold Bachelor or higher degrees in Finance, Economics, Financial Mathematics (and others) and have more than five years of relevant product and regional experience. 

     

    We are interested in applicants who possess skills in several of the following areas:

    • Content: Excellent understanding of Asia macro and hedging dynamics and the ability to clearly and independently formulate a trade solution/expression for client distribution. Quantitative and fundamental skills are also required.
    • Product: Solid knowledge of the Custom Basket swap product as well as the financing business. Knowledge around factor analytics and hedging analytics is also helpful.
    • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate and market custom basket trade expressions, ideas and solutions to a broad range of internal and external clients.
    • Collaboration and Engagement: Ability to collaborate with global teams to develop and broaden the product and business across the global client franchise. Capability to engage with different types of clients and senior decision makers to provide bespoke hedging and thematic solutions.
