The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies. The AIMS Group manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. With over 200 professionals across eight offices around the world, the AIMS Group provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs' market insights and risk management expertise. We extend these global capabilities to the world! 's leading sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices, for which we invest or advise on over $150 billion of alternative investments, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies.

The AIMS Platform Management team is responsible for portfolio implementation and trading, liquidity management, executing equity and currency hedging programs, manager on-boarding, producing in-depth performance analyses, and overseeing the business control framework. The team works closely with the investment and client portfolio solutions areas within AIMS, and with functional teams across the broader firm including Central Trading, Fund Accounting, Operations, Technology, Legal and Compliance.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the portfolio implementation and trading functions within the AlMS private markets platform. Including execution of capital activity and deal closing, counterparty! oversight, tracking and verifying all investment activity, and enhancing existing framework.
  • Support the Cash and Credit Working Group, cash projections, credit facility management, capital activity planning, investment liquidity tracking, portfolio expense analysis and others.
  • Work closely with the investment and portfolio management teams via the Allocation Working Group to outline capital allocation requirements, liquidity and hedging targets, and all other relevant portfolio implementation requirements.
  • Participate in the launching of new portfolios and investment structures, and client on-boarding activities.
  • Active involvement in strategic projects that span multiple functional areas.
  • Respond to both ongoing and ad-hoc requests from the various business areas within the AIMS organization.
  • Responsible for the direct oversight, on-going training and professional development of the junior team.
  • Issues tracking and resolution.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant industry experience; preferably private equity or asset management.
  • Experience with equity and derivative trade workflows (working knowledge of various instruments, trade agreements, counterparty interactions, trade and settlement processing, valuation framework, etc.)
  • A working understanding of credit agreements, its various structures, legal requirements and utility within investment portfolios.
  • Desire to develop an in-depth understanding of the investment structures and platforms, market strategies, and instruments traded in AIMS and via its external managers.
  • Demonstrated orientation toward managing time sensitive and business critical activities.
  • Strong people and project management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in technology implementation projects.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual.
