    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Job Summary & Responsibilities 

    We are seeking a junior economist to join the Global Markets Research team in New York. Macro Research focuses on the intersection between economics and financial markets across a wide class of assets including equities, fixed income/credit, currencies, and commodities.

     

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Development and support of econometric models
    • Analyzing and interpreting large amounts of data related to markets, economic and political events
    • Presenting data and conclusions in a clean and efficient manner to senior stakeholders
    • Assisting in preparation of publishing reports
    • Collaborating with the broader economics and strategy teams
    • Presenting our market views to a wide range of internal and external clients

    Preferred Qualifications & Skillset

    • 1-3 years of experience working in macroeconomic and/or markets research, ideally with direct experience developing and communicating investment ideas
    • Masters in macroeconomic analysis, asset pricing, corporate finance, and/or econometrics a plus
    • Proficiency in the use of external databases including Bloomberg, Reuters, CEIC, DataStream, FactSet, Haver is a plus
    • Strong quantitative skills and fluency in applied statistics and econometrics
    • Flexible and works well under pressure
    • Good organizational/multi-tasking skills and focus on meeting deadlines
    • Deep curiosity, and a passion for the intersection between macroeconomics and markets
    • Desire to work in a team-centric environment
