    OPERATIONS

    Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    The Customer Protection Team is responsible for ensuring the Firm’s compliance with SEC Rule 15c3-3. SEC Rule 15c3-3 was established for registered broker-dealers to ensure that customer assets would be available to satisfy the claims of customers in the event of a default by their brokerage firm. As a member of the Customer Protection Team, the individual will be involved in a full range of daily processes, regulatory audit work, as well as industrialization initiatives including the opportunity to learn process flows for both broker-dealers and banking entities.  The role involves working closing with other Operations teams, Regulatory Reporting, GSS, Compliance, and Legal to ensure compliance with customer protection rules. 

     

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL:

    • Prepare to gain a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s books and records by interacting with a variety of teams to develop subject matter expertise across the firm’s system architecture.
    • Showcase your attention to detail and analytical skills by ensuring all segregation exceptions are properly reported daily to Operations and GSS
    • Partner with Regulatory Reporting to ensure consistency and accuracy in Customer Protection calculations
    • Partner with the GSS and PWM businesses to help facilitate ever-changing client inventory requests
    • Leverage your analytical skills to perform root cause analysis to prevent future exceptions while using your inquisitive mindset to identify control weaknesses in existing processes and workflows.
    • Review, implement and revise existing processes and procedures to provide first-in-class protection to customers
    • Participate and drive various projects/initiatives within the team aimed at promoting and improving efficiencies and control

     

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in financial services.
    • Proven analytical skills, problem solving ability, and a risk and control mentality paired with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Ability to multi-task and work well under tight deadlines while ensuring accuracy.
    • Aptitude for building relationships and the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal clients with differing levels of books and records understanding in both a written and oral setting.
    • Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of projects while managing competing priorities

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Accounting educational background or work experience preferred
    • Detailed understanding of the firm’s risk and control framework with the ability to identify risks, areas for improvement, and work to develop/strengthen controls
    • Interest in and aptitude for analyzing exceptions within the firm’s books and records.
    • Proactive approach in addressing issues
