Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Technical support of automated trading systems which provide automated pricing and algorithmic execution strategies for Goldman Sachs clients operating in FICC financial markets (Foreign Exchange, Interest Rates, Credit & Commodities). Responsibilities include: monitoring of application health and first-level technical investigation of alerts in production, including navigating a complex Linux production environment, analyzing and interpreting errors in application logs, and performing manual action to fix and resolve technical issues as needed; investigating and responding to technical questions raised by internal Trading and Sales desks or external Goldman Sachs clients. Typical queries include technical issues preventing clients from pricing or executing with GS, guidance with regards to using internally-developed applications, user and client setup and configuration requests, and ad-hoc data requests; technical project work encompassing scripting, configuration and deployment changes, capacity planning, disaster recovery testing, and basic software development; and incident triage, crisis management, and post-incident follow-up when major system issues occur in production, including initial technical investigation, escalation to development and infrastructure teams, and communication with business stakeholders.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. Prior experience must include three (3) years with: supporting electronic trading environments, applying understanding of associated risks; applying knowledge of Financial markets and prior experience of Futures and Options; working with Linux operating system; analyzing complex trading issues and finding resolutions quickly and accurately; working with FIX protocol to diagnose inbound/outbound messages with clients and exchanges; working on trader-related issues; working in a front-office trading environment managing risk for millions of dollars; running the Incident and Change management process; project managing changes and requests related to the trading environment; familiarity with Networking concepts for troubleshooting network issues; database knowledge to write ad-hoc SQL queries to generate analytical and troubleshooting data; managing a trading environment to maximize system uptime and minimize risk; and basic development skills to create scripts to help automate repetitive tasks\troubleshoot issues.
