    Team Overview:

    The Securities Lending Trading Group commits the Firm's capital for the purpose of engaging in risk-mitigating hedging activities designed to reduce specific risks arising from its Prime Services Americas businesses. These risks include currency and interest rate risks resulting from the Firm's commitments to its customers under its securities financing businesses, as well as market risks to any equity and fixed income securities positions held by the Americas Trading Group.

     

    The Securities Lending Trading Group sits within the Prime Services business, which provides financing, securities lending, and other services (e.g., securities clearance and settlement, asset servicing reporting and technology, risk management tools) to hedge fund clients. Prime Services is a global business and this position is based in New York at 200 West Street, Goldman Sachs’ headquarters.

     

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Construct cost efficient hedges to systematic and idiosyncratic risks using ETFs, correlated pairs, equity derivatives, and/or IG/HY credit
    • Optimization of inventory through dividend and corporate action periods
    • Proactively price and trade synthetic borrow via reversal conversions
    • Manage portfolio of money market securities
    • Tactically hedge macro risks using G10 cross currency basis swaps and interest rate swaps

     

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelors Degree in Math, Finance, and/or a Quantitative discipline
    • Up to 4 years of relevant work experience
    • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and exemplary problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work closely with various teams across the firm
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Quantitative background with basic understanding of equity derivatives (swaps/options)
