The Prime Services and Securities Financing Transactions (SFT) Legal Team provides legal support for a number of businesses! within the Securities Division. Those businesses provide services to institutional clients, which include margin lending, securities lending and repurchase transactions, OTC derivatives, custody, clearing, settlement, market access and capital introduction. Currently, the team in EMEA is made up of six lawyers in London and one in Warsaw, all of whom regularly work closely with colleagues in Prime Services and SFT Legal in the US and Asia.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, proactive and resilient candidate, who is interested in technically challenging and rewarding work. The role requires the ability to work independently from day one and to manage a diverse and complex workload ranging from keeping abreast of regulatory! developments impacting the Prime Services and SFT business in EMEA a d providing advice as to how the business can support their clients in a changing regulatory environment to structuring, drafting and negotiating complex secured funding transactions in repo, stock loan or derivative form. Lawyers in the Prime Services and SFT team work closely with a diverse group of clients across the Securities Division and the broader Legal Department and thrive on the pressures of delivering consistently high quality advice to a dynamic and constantly evolving business.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
We are targeting qualified lawyers in the 8-9 years PQE range, although would be willing to consider candidates with a different experience profile. Candidates who can demonstrate a strong grounding in either derivatives or securities law and regulation are preferred. Candidates are expected to have relevant post-qualification experience either with a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel, preferably within a financial institution.
