The Authentication Engineering team is responsible for designing, developing and implementing all strategic authentication solutions for the bank; the current suite is a combination of on-premise and cloud-based offerings. GLOBAL COMPLIANCE
Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.
Financial Crime Compliance team (“FCC”) is part of the Goldman Sachs Global Compliance Division is responsible for coordinating Goldman Sachs’ enterprise-wide Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”)/Bank Secrecy Act, anti-bribery, government sanctions, and anti-boycott compliance efforts. FCC also provides AML-related services to Goldman Sachs subsidiaries worldwide. These services include: developing and implementing policies and procedures; performing customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence; screening against Office of Foreign Asset Control (“OFAC”) and other government sanctions lists; conducting automated and manual transaction monitoring including E-communications, investigating potential violations of law, regulation or firm policy by employees and/or clients; reporting suspicious activity; coordinating training of relevant employees; and liaising with law enforcement and regulatory authorities.
The successful candidate will be part of the Asia-Pacific FCC team primarily responsible for dealing with all FCC matter emanating from the Goldman Sachs Tokyo Office – the candidate will report both locally and regionally.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Reviewing Client Identification Program (CIP)/ Client Onboarding escalations and providing advice to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements in Japan and internal AML policies
- Conducting Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on prospective and existing clients to identify issues presenting potential legal, regulatory, sanctions or reputational risk, primarily utilizing publicly available data sources, vendor reports and reviewing client documentation
- Managing document retention in accordance with applicable AML regulations and firm policies
- Updating, drafting and implementing applicable KYC/Client Onboarding policies and procedures
- Providing training to employees on KYC/Client Onboarding related topics in both English and Japanese
- Collaborating closely with the global Anti-Money Laundering/Suspicious Activities Group, the Government Sanctions Group, the Anti-Bribery Group, the Electronic Communications Surveillance Group, and the Global Surveillance Group
- Drafting and filing suspicious activity reports in respect of activity or matters emanating from the Tokyo office

Controllers - Compensation Accounting
Compensation Accounting’s mission is to ensure that the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. It is responsible for the payment of all salaries, bonus, and other types of remuneration paid to employee of the firm globally; reporting of wages information and processing tax payments to US and international tax authorities. It is also responsible for the global financial accounting and reporting of all types of compensation (cash bonus, employee stock and option awards) that need to conform to all accounting requirements, such as US GAAP and IFRS. Specifically, we are responsible for allocation of compensation expense to cost centers and generating disclosures for regulatory reporting.
The Compensation Accounting Engineering team uses a combination of computer science, finance and math skills to build robust, innovative, scalable solutions along with Compensation Accounting controllers. Some of the complexities and challenges this group face include handling extremely sensitive data and functionality, accommodating regional regulation while offering global platform and workflow.

YOUR IMPACT

OUR IMPACT
The FICC Operations team manages the FX/IRP trade confirmations and settlements work-flow. The team is responsible for ensuring all FX/IRP OTC derivative deals are confirmed in a timely manner and settled. Partnership with multiple groups are key to effective risk management – teams ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved by leveraging internal sales/trading , technology, legal, Middle office teams and external dealer / client backoffice contacts. The analyst is require to be dynamic and client service oriented with high focus on risk and control. From an early stage, we develop and expect our analysts to think creatively and ‘outside the box’, as well as improving the daily process and taking responsibility and ownership for this to happen. The role also requires the ability to seamlessly switch between multiple activities and significant interaction with clients so communication will be a key asset.
