The Corporate Treasury Strats team is looking for world class quantitative programmers to work closely with Corporate Treasury partners to employ quantitative analytics to drive optimizations of firm liquidity, cash and collateral management, funds transfer pricing and trade execution strategies. Internal Audit helps to ensure that Goldman Sachs maintains effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring the firm’s compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on developing smart control solutions. BUSINESS UNIT AND ROLE OVERVIEW
The primary role of Internal Audit is to help protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organisation. Internal Audit independently assesses the firm's internal control structure. We provide assurance that financial reporting is reliable, that there is compliance with applicable laws and regulations and that the firm's operations are effectively controlled. We assist management in identifying risk and commercially managing risk by providing advice in developing control solutions and monitoring the implementation of management's control measures.
Internal Audit assists the firm's Board of Directors' Audit Committee in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities and regularly interacts with the external independent auditors. Internal Audit is organised into global teams of business and technology auditors:
- Securities - covers the Firm's Sales, Trading and Insurance businesses; including related supporting control functions such as Operations, Technology, Product Control and Divisional Compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in / lead planning and scoping reviews. This will involve meeting relevant stakeholders to understand and walk through the business and technology processes to identify the key risks and controls to be assessed.
- Participate in preparation of the audit testing program and assessment of the adequacy of the design and operation of the controls associated with the key risks identified.
- Assess the risk and impact of the issues identified on reviews and assist with production of the report to management.
- Follow up with clients on remediation of actions coming out of issues identified during audits.
- Engage in ad hoc work on firmwide projects around new processes or activities and investigation of incidents.
- Liaise with colleagues globally to understand global processes and facilitate benchmarking of best practice.
- Establish and maintain internal client relationships and regularly interact with the business during the year to assess changes in the control environment and other matters arising in the business.

Controllers ensure that the Firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. Controllers also ensure that the Firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets. Our Product Control Team reports key financial data including P&L, balance sheet and price verification. This team works closely with business leaders of the FICC and Equities businesses.

The team performs daily intercompany, external and internal reconciliations, reporting identified exceptions to responsible teams across Operations. The Reconciliations team strives to accurately and effectively compare internal books and records to external clearing agents such as BONY and DTCC. The team performs inter-company reconciliations to help facilitate business transactions between a GS company and its affiliates. The Reconciliations team monitors reconciliations between the internal ledgers of the firm to ensure that the books and records on which our financial statements are based are accurate. We assess and report operational risks through the analysis of settlement and trade activity to allow the business to better manage their risk.

Roles within Securities Strats
Securities Strats play important roles in several areas.
