What we do Prime Clearing Operations Technology / Clearing Operations Engineering is responsible for building and enhancing the systems and processes that powers Goldman Sachs’ derivatives clearing business. We connect GS and our clients to over 40 clearing venues across the world. Every future or option that GS clears for ourselves or for our clients flows through our systems, which can be >1m day. We have several applications that make this happen. Most of these need to efficiently process high throughput, have rich operational functionality and handle significant financial exposure. They include:•Clearing venue and client connectivity•Matching algorithms •Trade booking and event processing flows•Data lake for analytics How will you succeed in the role? Show your attention to detail and the best practices when designing, developing and testing code. The complexity in derivatives products and the functional flows can be considerable. With the support of your team you'll build partnerships with our stakeholders across different operations, business, client services, engineering and external groups to implement effective and sometimes creative solutions. You will move quickly to engineer solutions for constantly evolving business or client demands. Also, you will consider strategic initiatives for future business growth, demonstrate the ability to see the big picture and deliver innovative ideas for complex flows. Demonstrating the ability to do both of these is key to your role. Our team is distributed globally (Bengaluru, London, New York, Singapore and Warsaw) it's a diverse set of skills, ideas and people. Enabling Goldman Sachs’ research analysts to model investment ideas efficiently and
accurately, whilst ensuring that clients can access these ideas when, where and how they
choose. GIR Technologists leverage the latest in cloud, mobile and big data technologies to
help define and deliver our digital investment research strategy.
In this role, you will be part of a global development team responsible for building platforms that manage our clients’ access to all GS Research content and services as well as invoicing those clients who pay for subscriptions. You'll be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements definition through to deployment and testing. You'll work with senior technical architects and functional experts to design and implement key components of the Global Investment Research platform. You'll engage with other teams on a regular basis to integrate their solutions with other parts of the GIR ecosystem. And you're encouraged to pro-actively identify improvements to existing systems.

In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.
OUR IMPACT
Operations team of critical thinkers partners with groups in all areas of the firm to perform financial analytics and reporting and data analytics and engineering. Our division also provides critical operations design and handles capital markets operations to ensure business flows smoothly across our global offices. From day one, team members play a vital role in upholding the three Operations principles of client focus, process innovation, and risk management. Client Control manages the control validation function to ensure integrity of client balances for the firm. The team oversees the COD/HIC accounts reconciliations, client statement activity. In addition performs key functions related to risk management, client transparency, statement monitoring and facilitating new client /business on boarding’s.

The Securities Division Control team is fast paced and highly visible area responsible for providing a detective control framework ensuring integrity and suitability of sub ledgers via internal, external and client account reconciliation. The team is seeking a skilled professional who will provide business insights for data driven decisions. In this role, you will apply your quantitative, problem solving and customer service skills to support the various business units and clients. You will also play a key role in suggesting and implementing process improvements for the team to mitigate risks and enhance the overall client experience.

Operations Risk Management (ORM) is responsible for coordinating the Operations Risk Management framework activities across the Division, with particular focus on cross-divisional risk reporting, remediation and governance. Other key responsibilities include pro-actively improving the risk and control framework across Operations through more objective control assessments, conducting post implementation reviews, and developing risk training programs and risk management tools.
Risk Solutions Team’s primary mission is to drive the development and deployment of new risk metrics and analytics while providing thought leadership and expertise in risk measurement, risk tools and risk information visualization. As we access new data sources our challenge is to leverage them effectively and provide actionable metrics and visualizations that will drive change and facilitate more effective risk management. We interact and support our embedded risk managers and seek to provide them with the analytics and tools to maximize their effectiveness.
